Our purpose

Our aim is to provide turn-key ecological services underlining protection of Hawaii’s native species, allowing our clients to focus on their deliverables. Our management principles are based on a “systems approach”, with both the broad ecological snapshot and historical context guiding the path forward. Success is measured by long-term positive results, where native ecosystems may comfortably coexist alongside further developments and improvements to our infrastructure. We are focused on improving our community and environment on Kauai and the Hawaiian islands, not only because of the role each plays in sustaining us, but because it is our kuleana.

Who We Are

Co-owners Zachary DeWalt and Megan Vynne each have 12 years experience as field biologists, with 9 years of working directly with native and endangered biota of the Hawaiian islands. Due to our extensive experience working in our islands’ ecosystems, we are able to offer a wide range of services, from ecological surveys to habitat restoration to meeting environmental compliance requirements on construction projects. We also have broad experience working directly with private, federal, state, and research agencies under current environmental policies.

Our Commitment

Because we are a locally-based team, we are able to quickly mobilize and offer lower rates than consultants based off island. As a small company, we are able to offer excellent costumer service. Need accountability? We work directly with clients, from proposal to punchlist. Need experience? We personally perform the work we have been retained for, instead of rotating through temporary hires. Changing deadlines? Rather than bid first and staff later, we will always be ready to begin when you are. We pride ourselves on producing high quality results for our clients with a focus on customer satisfaction and positive project outcomes.

We look forward to earning your business.
